Admission Requirements

Admissions Office

The role of the Admissions Office at ESEI is to assist you through the admission process. It is the beginning of our personal relationship with you. We are interested in getting to know you as a person and answering any questions you might have. Below you can find detailed admission requirements.

Admission Process

Admission to ESEI is based on academic ability and potential for success. Academic ability is evaluated by the applicant's past academic performance, recommendations and statement of purpose.

• In order to be considered for admission to ESEI, you must have an
accredited secondary school record that clearly demonstrates both your ability and motivation. It is mandatory to have a high school diploma or equivalent with above average passing grades.

• The BA (Hons) in Business Administration programme is taught entirely in English, and it is crucial that you can read, write, speak and understand English fluently in order to fully benefit from the course ESEI offers. Applicants must demonstrate English language competence enough to be able to contribute actively to classroom discussions, interact effectively with classmates from diverse backgrounds, and communicate effectively in written examinations, group projects and oral presentations.

• If you are a non-native English speaker or have not been educated in that language you should provide us with evidence of your fluency in English. We accept the official language examinations listed below. If you have not taken any official examination your proficiency in English will be assessed on the basis of an Essay on one of the following topics and the interview. The essay should be handwritten and about 300 words in length.

If your English score is only slightly below the minimum requirement, we can still consider your application. If you have strong grounds for acceptance, we may decide to offer you a place subject to you attending an academic English course at ESEI prior to the programme commencement, or tutorials during the course.

Essay topics

  1. Describe a situation that tested your leadership skills. How did you manage the situation?
  2. To recognize that effective managers are able to learn from failure, describe a failure that you have experienced. What did you learn from the experience?

• For admission you are required to demonstrate why you consider yourself to be a suitable applicant. The Statement of Purpose is your chance to prove your unique qualifications for, and commitment to, your chosen field by discussing those experiences, people, and events which have compelled you to enter into it. It is your opportunity to let the Admissions Officer know more about yourself. The statement of purpose should be handwritten and about 300 words in length.

• You should also submit two academic references, although you may submit more if you believe it will help us in our decision-making. Your referees should be able to comment on your performance during your studies and therefore should preferably be professors who have taught you. We reserve the right to contact your referees for further information connected to your application. If submitting a paper reference, your referee should sign the reference, attach a business card and return the reference in a sealed envelope signed across the envelope seal, either to you to submit with your application, or directly to ESEI International Business School. We will not accept references that are not on letterhead paper.

• Finally you should send a certified bank statement or credit reference from your or your sponsor’s bank proving your solvency.

In addition to satisfying all the regular requirements, although not required for admission, work experience as well as involvement in organizational or community activities may be used in the evaluation.

To make a good impression with your application make sure we receive a complete application.

We are not able to make a decision unless we have received by mail or by fax the following documents:
- Application Form
- Secondary School/Academic Transcript
- Proof of English Proficiency
- Statement of Purpose
- Academic References
- Bank Statement
